This is a story about love and bloodlust and the things we do for both. …

Unputdownable vampire horror romance

5 stars

This book was unputdownable for me. More than a queer contemporary vampire "marriage story" romance, this book felt like an exploration of the sudden pressure that determines whether a long-term relationship can cross over into true life partnership. An exquisite combination of horror, romance and the sweetly mundane, it confronts Nolan's and Parker's deepest fears about who they are and who they might become. Don't expect a generic paranormal romance, but something altogether quite special.

Lisabet Sarai: Fangs, Fur and the Single Girl (2024, Lisabet Sarai) 5 stars

A tragically attractive vampire, a hunky wolf-man and a skeptical but susceptible career gal. What …

One for grown-up fans of Twilight

5 stars

Bianca is the founder of a vampire themed magazine, who finds herself embroiled in a reverse harem fated mates situation at the heart of a larger conflict within New York's paranormal population. I loved the parallels between Bianca's partners and would-be suitors, and the message this sends about respect and power dynamics. Lisabet Sarai's well-honed erotica skills are apparent throughout this book, blending drama, humour, suspense and steam in a way that kept me coming back for more. No sparkly nonsense here, just a tongue-in-cheek (and other places) contemporary paranormal romance.

Rebecca Chase: Keep in Touch (2024, Rebecca Chase) 5 stars

Lucie is an anxious seventeen-year-old struggling with anxiety attacks, painfully low self-esteem and loneliness while …

Anxiety and frustrating family are no match for true love

5 stars

A thoughtful second chance romance. After meeting as teenagers in a holiday park, the couple are ripped apart by frustrating life circumstances. Rebecca Chase nailed the characters, and all I wanted was for Lucie to overcome those sadly too-relatable obstacles between her and happiness. This lovely novel will hit the right notes for lovers of sweet romance with strong threads of family drama.

Nannying for the Outback Man (2024, Millie Wolf) 5 stars

Steamy short small-town romance in the Australian outback

5 stars

A steamy snack read set in a small town in outback Australia. I loved this author's writing style; it flowed so smoothly with a great cadence that's so well-suited to short, fast-paced fiction. The boxed set was an insta-buy for me, especially after reading Loved by the Playboy.
