Witch Please

I found this book by scrolling through the available fantasy audiobooks on my library app. It looked cute and it works for both Wyrd and Wonder and Foodies Read. I started out listening to the audiobook but I ended up switching to the ebook about 1/4 of the way in. I'm not a fan of sex scenes in books. I skip over them when I'm reading. Sex scenes on audio? Ewwww....Danica has been told her whole life that if a witch marries a mundane human then the witch's magic will decrease. That's what happened to her mother. Her grandmother is on a mission to match her with a powerful witch husband to strengthen their family. Danica just broke up with a witch who would not commit after two years of dating but who then is getting married to someone else a few months later. She decides to have a fling with an attractive mundane baker but she soon realizes that their relationship is deeper than that.Overall I enjoyed this book even though it has some plot points that tend to annoy me. It isn't a good sign when you find yourself muttering, "A quick phone call would clear this up" and "Stand up for yourself, ya wimp." The secondary characters are well written and interesting. There is a lot of good LGBT rep here too. Titus is bi, his sister is a lesbian, and two of Danica's coven mates are a lesbian couple. The depth of all the secondary characters means there is a lot of room to grow with this series. Right now there are two more books. I have book two on hold. Not all the plot points in this book were wrapped up so it will be interesting to see if they are expanded on as the series goes on.
